Scalp Massage
Head Massage At Your Location: Neck, Shoulder, and Scalp Relief, Plus Deep Relaxation
Scalp Massage (often administered as a key component of Ayurvedic Massage, a
medical modality native to India) is extremely relaxing, yet most people haven't ever had a
session. Scalp Massage happens to be one of our specialties. Mountainside On-Site Massage Therapy offers focused sessions of Scalp
Massage, which includes the head, face, shoulders, and neck, provided by our hand-chosen LMTs, among the best in the region.
Our Massage Therapists also incorporate face,
shoulder, head, jaw, and neck massage into a session of full-body massage, or the entire time may be spent working on these areas, alone. We travel to your location, bringing the
relaxing and uplifting experience right to you, in the privacy and comfort of your own residence. The ultimate in privacy and calm.
Mental and emotional stress are a part of life, and that stress
tends to accumulate, in the form of muscle tension focused in the muscles, fascia, and tendons of the shoulders, neck, face,
and scalp. Many tension headaches, as well as TMJ and migraines, are actually rooted in these chronically tight
muscles in the head and upper back. Many clients report that Scalp Massage has been a great way to get to the cause of their headaches,
and have helped ease the cycle of chronic tension and head pain.
Scalp Massage also helps increase blood flow to all surface tissues,
including the scalp and facial skin. Over the centuries, there has been much speculation that Scalp Massage might foster
healthier hair follicles, due to the increased blood flow that Therapeutic Massage produces. Considering that better blow flow
brings more nutrients and oxygen to epithelial cells, nourishing the roots of your hair, this is, indeed, plausible.
Some of our Massage Therapists also possess certification in CranioSacral Therapy, developed by the Upledger Institute. So, they can incorporate this modality into a session of scalp massage, or even full-body massage. While a modality that is challanged for some of its teachings, its results are unmistakably positive. Whether CST is right about all its theories is unimportant; what is important is knowing that it works well for many conditions.
While many hair treatment centers will state that while scalp massage
is relaxing and promotes blood flow, there is no scientific research proving such, leaving only centuries of anecdotal
data. In fact, one recent clinical study demonstrates that daily Aromatherapy-Scalp Massage is, in fact, a safe and
effective treatment for alopecia areata, a form of hair loss. With time, hopefully more research will be done to prove
scalp massage's efficacy in this regard. In the meantime, the relaxation aspect of this treatment is indisputable.
Scalp and Head Massage can be performed using massage oil infused
with Certified Organic Essential Oils derived from a variety of botanicals, or clients can opt for an oil-free session.
(Most of our clients actually choose the latter, but this is your decision.)
Many clients have told us that our Scalp Massage sessions are
deeply relaxing experiences that approach the transcendental. , lending a sense of inner calm that lasts well beyond the
session. We all carry around so much tension in the musculature of the head and neck, and releasing that tension after
never having done so can be exhilarating. A few have even commented that their Head and Scalp Massage sessions had been
among the most intensely calming experiences of their lives.
We also offer Spa Facials, along with scalp and face massage, consisting of "mud" masques and cleansers designed to naturally clean and nourish the skin. Everything that we employ is 100% additive-free, and many ingredients are rare and highly sought, such as fresh aloe, organic cocoa, organic yogurt, fresh cucumber, and more. Working within our legal Scope of Practice as LMTs in New Jersey, we never use any aesthetician's chemicals.
